簡単に言えば”小石”はa small piece of rockだ。ところが英語には、小石を言う言葉は他にもある。pebbleの定義には、他の小石との違いを明記にする必要がある。
Pebbleは水の動きで摩耗され角が磨り減った、丸みをもつ小石を言う。川、湖、海の水辺で見かける。
